Rhode Shade Edit
Rhode Pocket Blush & Lip Tint Breakdown
If you’ve ever bought a blush that looked pink in the pan but turned orange on your skin — your undertone might be the reason.
I test makeup based on undertone, not just colour. In this guide, I’m breaking down Rhode Pocket Blush shades on fair cool-toned skin, plus the lip combinations that actually stay cool. I will also go in to a deep dive on what Rhode shades will suit you the best – according to your undertone (as seen on my TikTok).

WHY UNDERTONE MATTERS
The “natural flush” isn’t universal – it’s personal.
The same blush can look:
– pink on cool skin
– peach on warm skin
– muted or grey on olive skin
That’s why choosing based on undertone changes everything.
RHODE POCKET BLUSH – SHADE BREAKDOWN

Piggy
Piggy is a soft baby pink that stays true on cool skin.
→ Perfect everyday rosy flush. Can pull orange on cool olive skin.
Sleepy Girl
Sleepy Girl is a muted rosy shade with brown undertones. Perfect for olive skin!
→ Can pull warm/bronzy depending on your skin tone.
Juice Box
Juice Box is a brighter pink with more saturation.
→ Reads cooler than it looks in the pan. Statement flush.
Plum
Plum is a deep berry shade with a strong cool base.
→ The most reliably cool-toned shade in the range. Can look a little intense on fair skin.
Teacup
Teacup is a neutral leaning cool raspberry pink
→ It gives a natural, sun-kissed flush on fair, cool-toned skin
Candy Apple
Candy Apple is a warm pearly red, doesn’t pull orange on cool-toned skin
→ It’s very pigmented and can be a little intense on fair skin

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU BLEND
Blush doesn’t stay the same as in the pan.
When blended:
– Piggy → soft pink
– Sleepy Girl → bronzy rose
– Juice Box → bright pink
– Plum → cool berry
– Teacup → neutral raspberry pink
– Candy Apple → neutral leaning warm red
Always blend your swatches before deciding – this is where undertone really shows
WHICH RHODE BLUSH SHOULD YOU CHOOSE?
If you’re cool-toned:
→ Piggy, Plum, Juice Box are safest
If you’re unsure:
→ avoid “muted” or “natural” shades – they often pull warm
If you’re olive:
→ even pink shades can turn peachy depending on pigment balance, while a muted shade like sleepy girl will harmonize.

ULTIMATE RHODE LIP COMBOS BY UNDERTONE

Cool undertone
Light: Lift + Jelly Bean
Deep: Move + Raspberry Jelly
These combinations stay balanced without turning orange.
Neutral undertone
More flexible – these shades adapt depending on the rest of your makeup.
Warm undertone
These enhance warmth and golden tones in the skin.
My favorite combo on cool-toned lips
→ stays cool and natural without pulling peach
→ the most flattering deeper shade
→ cool-toned winner
New Lip Tint Shades – Cool-toned safe?
Pretzel is described as a warm shimmery mauve
→ on fair cool-toned skin it reads as a true, purple mauve on the lips
Sweet Pea is described as a warm soft pink
→ in fair cool-toned skin it doesn’t pull orange, stays a soft pink colour on the lips
DRY SKIN FRIENDLY RHODE SKINCARE

If you have dry skin, base prep matters just as much as the makeup itself.
Here’s what worked for me:
7/10 – great under makeup, but not hydrating enough for very dry skin
10/10 – deeply hydrating, perfect as a prep step or overnight
10/10 – hydrating and plumping lip mask – love the scent sugar mint
10/10 – fits everything and actually practical
Hydrated skin = better blush blending and truer color payoff.
